Code of Conduct
Orature is a community dedicated to empowering Black sci-fi/fantasy authors. To ensure a positive and inclusive environment for all members, we've crafted this Code of Conduct. By participating in Orature, you agree to abide by these guidelines:
Zero Tolerance for Hate Speech: Orature has zero tolerance for hate speech, racism, sexism, homophobia, or any form of discrimination. Engaging in such behavior will result in immediate removal from the community. Strive to create an inclusive space where everyone feels welcome.
No Sexual Harassment: Orature is committed to providing a space free from any form of sexual harassment. Respect the boundaries and consent of fellow members. Any unwelcome or inappropriate sexual advances, comments, or behavior will not be tolerated. Our community thrives on mutual respect, and every member deserves to feel comfortable and safe.
Kind and Constructive Communication: Foster a supportive atmosphere through kind and constructive communication. Disagreements are natural, but approach discussions with respect, avoiding personal attacks or offensive language.
No Harassment or Bullying: Orature is committed to providing a safe space free from harassment or bullying. Treat others with kindness, and report any inappropriate behavior to the community moderators.
Maintain Confidentiality: Respect the privacy of our members. Do not share personal information without consent. What happens in Orature stays in Orature.
Collaboration Over Competition: Encourage collaboration among members rather than fostering a competitive atmosphere. We're here to uplift and support each other in our writing journeys.
Feedback with Empathy: When providing feedback, do so with empathy and consideration. Offer constructive criticism while recognizing the effort and creativity of fellow members.
Follow Community Guidelines: Adhere to any specific guidelines or rules set by Orature moderators. These guidelines are in place to ensure a positive and enriching experience for all members.
